During the booming of the web2.0 rage we recieved the asignment to conceive a strategy and design an interface for an online mashup. We chose to work with the concept of stencilism, a form of graffiti where cutout cardboard and spray paint is used to quickly spread an image throughout the city.

Stencils aren't just vandalism, they usually try to communicate something such as a political statement or try to bring attention to some absurd situation in our society by ridiculing it. We wanted to take the concept of stencilism and provide a new canvas for these artists. Instead of letting these messages degrade on the walls of some suburb, attracting only the attention of bypassers, we wanted to expose and enlarge their effect. By combining these stencils with data from other online information sources, stencils can be used to target local problems, which would otherwise go unnoticed or be ignored by traditional news outlets.
