Aesthetic Clash

  • electronics

Description:

Aesthetic class was a project for the module Digital Divide. Our assignment was to identify an existing divide and produce a solution in the form of multimedia. We choose to work around the discussion of digital art as a real art form.

Excerpt from paper: We, as new media designers, are heart-struck each time we sense that digital art isn't considered as such at all - it isn't unique, it's an object of consumption, it's computer generated. What a load of bull.

Roles:

This was a collaboration between 5 Belgian C-MD students and a Dutch colleague (Joeri Dehouwer, Thomas De Louker, Toon Gorissen, Sasj Lamberty, Leen Lantmeeters, Ward Lemmens en Kenny Stals.)

My contribution to this project was reproducing the painting to it's new digital counterpart and literally redrawing it in Photoshop. After that I animated the main character of the movie in Flash and assisted in animating the rest in After Effects.
